Senior Club Notes 31st October 2016

Our senior reserve team contested the league final on Friday evening last against Abbeylara in Emmet Park and finished the season on a high. After what was our usual hard fought battle with Abbeylara, football finally won the day and we emerged victorious on a score line of 2-12 to 1-8. A delighted captain Gary Connell collected the cup after the game to make this the 16th trophy won by the club this season.

We extend our sincerest best wishes to Eugene Clarke who was hospitalized for a number of days following the game due to a severe injury sustained in the second half. Eugene has been one of our brightest and most consistent senior players over the last 10 years. Unfortunately Eugene’s life will be severely altered for a considerable period due to this incident. We hope to see him back to full health and out on the playing fields in the New Year.

Our under 21 team got back to winning ways on Sunday morning with a great win over Granard /Ballymore on a score line of 4-15 to 1-8. Well done to all involved.

Congratulations to St Columbas, Mullinalaughta on their fine win in Leinster on Sunday. Best wishes in the next round.

We are due to face Mullinalaughta in the leader cup semi final this Sunday. Please see fixtures or social media to confirm this fixture.
