KILLOE GAA

Senior Club Notes – 27th Oct 2014

Preparations have well and truly kicked off for our upcoming ‘Jigs N Reels’ fundraiser which is taking place in the Longford Arms Hotel ballroom on Saturday night the 6th of December. Rumors are rife of sightings of the chosen couples being spotted practising their moves and strutting their stuff at various secret locations throughout the county, and beyond as they strive to be voted Killoe, Emmet Og’s first ever dancing champions. Tickets for the event at a very reasonable €10 will be widely available in the coming weeks throughout the parish.

Our under 21 team kicked off their championship with a fine win over Moydow/Kenagh in Emmet Park on Saturday evening last. The final score was 2-14 to 2-6. We are away to Ardagh this coming Saturday evening at 4pm. Good luck to all involved with the under 21 team.

Our lotto draw took place in Begley’s bar on Sunday night for a jackpot of €4,300. The numbers drawn were 1,13,14 and 28. Unfortunately there was no jackpot winner. E20 winners were Jimmy Curran, 19 Congress Terrace, Longford, Paul Devaney, Esker, Olivia O Reilly, Ballagh Newtownforbes, Margaret McKenna, C/O Sean Kelly and Michael Caherly, New York. This weeks sellers prize went to Mr. Brian Finneran.

It is worth nothing that both Michael Caherly and Paul Devaney’s tickets were purchased on line through our website at http://www.killoegaa.ie. We wish to thank sincerely all those who continue to support our lotto, either locally or online. Next weeks draw will be in the Olde Forge on Sunday night for €4,400.
