Senior Club Notes 26th March 2018

Our reserve junior team got the season off to a fine start at the weekend with a good win over Longford Slashers on a score of 2-9 t 1-3. Hopefully this will set the trend for the year to come. This coming weekend our senior team kick off the league with a game against Granard. Please see fixtures section for time and date.

Hard luck to the Longford senior team following their agonizing last gasp defeat on Sunday. While it was a disappointing way to end the competition, there were certainly a lot of positives to take from the league campaign.

Registration remains outstanding for a lot of members both playing and non playing. Registration closes on 31st March 2018. Remember unless you are registered you do not get a vote in our AGM or are not insured to take part in any club activities. Please contact any executive member to register.

A club meeting will take place on Thursday night at 9pm. All members are asked to attend.

Commiserations to our quiz team who were narrowly beaten in Senior Scòr last week. Thanks to Ann Harte, Brendan Bracken, Kevin Mollaghan and Robbie Browne for taking part.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in Begleys for a jackpot of €11,800. The numbers drawn were 2, 18, 26 and 27. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were The Browne Grandchildren, Traenlawn, Damian Fitzpatrick, Michael Campbell, Oghill, Roisin Lennon, Esker and Emma Gray, Ennybegs. This weeks sellers prize went to Brian Finneran. Next week sees the jackpot rise to €11,900 with the draw in the Olde Forge.

Finally this week we send our sincerest congratulations to Amy and Shane Dowd on the birth of their beautiful baby daughter recently.
