2020 Senior Championship V Mostrim

While it has been a long 11 months for players and supporters since our quarter final win, the wait was finally ended on Saturday evening last when we took on Mostrim in our Semi Final decider. Entering with a heavy favourites tag, Killoe exerted all the pressure early on and raced to a 4 point lead. While Mostrim struggled to break out of their own half at times, a loose pass on our twenty meter line was pounced on by Mostrim who scored a well taken goal. Killoe never panicked though, with Mark Hughes hitting seven points without reply to leave Killoe in a comfortable position, leading 12 points to 1-3 at half time. The second half seen Killoe pushing on with some fantastic scores being taken. With the game beyond doubt in the final stages, Killoe worked the ball forward and found Ciaran Donohoe who placed a tidy finish into the bottom left corner to see the final score Killoe 1-20 Mostrim 1-06. Well done to the team and management on reaching back to back county finals given all the challenges 2020 threw. The county final takes place next weekend, where we face our 2019 county final opponents, Longford Slashers.
