Senior Championship Semi-Final V Colmcille

Our Senior team booked their place in the 2023 Senior Championship Final with a 6 point win over reigning champions Colmcille. After a tense opening 10 minutes Killoe began to breakthrough the Colmcille Defence and won a number of frees which Mark Hughes made no mistake with. By halftime Killoe held a 5 point to 1 lead all courtesy of Hughes. Colmcille had a point to prove in the second half and reduced the deficit to just one point inside the first 10 minutes of the half with Killoe’s sixth point coming from Denis McGoldrick. Substitute Ronan McGoldrick got the breakthrough goal midway through the second half to put Killoe back in control. Killoe upped the tempo completely after the goal and outscored Colmcille by 7 points to 2 in closing minutes with Ronan McGoldrick, Daniel Mimnagh, Mark Hughes, Cian Farrelly & Cian Dooner all getting scores. A last ditch effort by Colmcille yielded a goal, but it was too late to make a difference to the final outcome as Killoe seen out the win. Full time score: Killoe 1-13, Colmcille 1-7.

Junior A Championship Semi-Final V Legan Sarsfields

It fell to our Junior A team to make it 2 wins from 2 in our semi-final weekend and the lads delivered with a comprehensive win over Legan Sarsfields on Sunday afternoon. Killoe had a sluggish start but eventually got going with scores coming from Oisin McManus, Shane McManus, Killian Feeney & David Mimnagh in the first half. By halftime Killoe had a solid 6 point lead despite not taking some goal chances. Playing into the wind in the second half, Killoe remained in control with the defence turning over the Legan Sarsfields attack on multiple occasions. Further scores were added on by Gerry Carberry, Shane Dooner and the McManus brothers which ensured a comfortable victory in the end. Full time score: Killoe 0-18 Legan Sarsfields 0-5.

Well done to both our Senior and Junior players and management teams on reaching their respective county finals in what was a fantastic weekend for the club. All eyes look forward now to the county finals two weeks time.
