KILLOE GAA

Minor Club Notes 22nd October 2018

Well done to our U13’s on their win on Saturday last over Carrick Sarsfield/St Dominics in the regional league. Next game is a home fixture against Clonbroney/Wolfe Tones in Clonee at 4.30  pm next Saturday 29th October in Clonee.

Longford GAAs vice chairperson and National Healthy club chairperson, Brid McGoldrick, opened the National GAA Healthy club Conference last Saturday, in Croke Park, to over 500 people in an inspirational fashion. It was a very proud moment for Killoe and Longford. Killoe Emmet Og Healthy club presented their project to clubs from all over the country. Their #JustPlayFootball project consists of three short videos which will be released in the next week-children’s interviews, referees interviews and a summary of the project. Local superstars feature in the videos. Stayed tuned. A third community video will be available to purchase before Christmas where everyone interviewed will feature.

A massive congratulations to James McGoldrick, who got acknowledged as a local hero for his visionary role in Killoe and Longford for advancing the Healthy Club project. Many clubs nationwide do not get the support from their executive. In Killoe we are very lucky to have support from all three executives-minor, senior and ladies, in a very hands on way. We would like to sincerely thank them all and all the parish for their help and support for making the projects successful. To all the Healthy Club team members thank you for getting the project across the line for Saturday.

Scor Na Óg takes place in Abbeylara Community Centre on Saturday 24th November at 6pm. If you are interested in taking part in Scor please contact Yvonne Ni Thuaithail
