Senior Club Notes – 8th July 2019

Division 3 Final:

Congratulations to our Division 3 team and management on winning the Division 3 title on Wednesday evening last in Granard against Colmcille on a scoreline of Killoe 2-6 to Colmcilles 0-11. Colmcille started the better of the 2 teams and went in at the break leading on a scoreline of Killoe 0-2 Colmcille 0-5. Both goalkeepers making very important saves for their side. Colmcille started the better of the teams in the second half and by the midway point were ahead by Killoe 0-4 to Colmcilles 0-9. In the last 14 minutes of the game Killoe scored 2 goals and 2 points to Colmcilles 2 points. The introduction of 2 second half subs brought more energy to the Killoe attack. With time nearly up Killoe trailed by a goal, a point and a goal from Euan Finneran swung the game in Killoes favour. Final score Killoe 2-6 to Colmcilles 0-11. Well done to all.

Senior League:

On Sunday last we played Longford Slashers in the senior league we were defeated on a scoreline of Killoe 0-10 to Longford Slashers 1-13. We played this game minus the services of many of our first team players. The 2 teams were fairly evenly matched at the start and after 15 minutes the score was Killoe 0-2 to Longford Slashers 0-3. Slashers finished the better of the teams and went in at the break leading by Killoe 0-4 to Longford Slashers 0-8. Midway through the second half Slashers had extended their league to Killoe 0-7 to Longford Slashers 0-13.  The game ended with Killoe scoring a further 3 points to Longford Slashers goal. Final score Killoe 0-10 to Longford Slashers 1-13.

Killoe Cul Camp:

The Kelloggs Cul Camp takes place in Emmet Park from the 15th to the 19th of July. Bookings can be made at All those wishing to attend should book on line as there is no guarantee that you will be able to book on the Monday morning of the camp.


Our lotto draw took place in Begleys on Sunday night. There were no jackpot winners. The numbers drawn were 7,15,23,30. The 20 winners were Colm Harte Longford, Margaret & Mickey Rogers Esker, Margot Rowley Dooroc, Kate Martin c/o Kevin Prunty and Aidan O’Brien Longford. The sellers prize went to John Fitzsimons.
