Senior Club Notes 9th October 2017

Congratulations to our minor team who ad a fantastic win in the championship final on Sunday. This caps a fantastic year for our minor club capturing championships at under 14, under 16 and under 18 grades. Well done to involved in the minor club and the three teams and their management.

Work is well underway for our novel fundraising event, ‘the Killoe 20K Drop’ which will take place in the Longford Arms Hotel on Saturday the 4th of November. The show is similar to the TV show ‘Million pound prize drop’ and offers a superb nights entertainment.We are delighted to date with the response from local companies who have come on board as our major sponsors and advertisers and we thank them for their generosity. The show will be launched in the Olde Forge on Tuesday night the 10th October at 8pm with all in attendance being treated to a sneak preview of the show. Refreshments will be served so please come along and enjoy the event.Tickets for the event will be going on sale shortly priced at €20 each.

Longford GAA are running Gaelic Football Award 1 Coaching Course in the near future. This is a hugely important course due to the fact that all adult club teams MUST have an Award 1 coach involved since the start of 2016 and by the start of 2018 all adult Club Head Coaches/Managers MUST be Award 1 qualified so we believe that this course will attract a lot of interest and we expect it to fill up quickly

Award 1 Youth/AdultThis course is aimed at coaches of teams from U13 up to and including adults and coaches wishing to attend must hold the Foundation Award for at least the last 12 months. This course will be ran over 3 Saturdays (10 – 4:00) and 2 Friday nights (7 – 9:30) in November/December and all sessions MUST be attended in order to complete the course and receive your Award. Lunch will be provided on the Saturdays. Places are available on a first come first served bases (provided the above Foundation requirement is met) and limited to 24 in total. Please contact the office 043 3345 219 to book your place and to pay the earlybird booking fee of €80 (available until Friday November 3rd). If payment is not made by this date the standard cost of €100 will apply and this must be paid in advance of the first session.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night and the numbers drawn were 1, 2, 13 and 32 . There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Mark Hughes, Ohill, Sean Feeney, Corlea, James Gray, Ennybegs, Pat Doherty, Esker and Paddy Lee, Esker  with this weeks sellers prize going to Brendan Bracken, junior. Next weeks draw for a jackpot  of €9,600 will take place in Begleys bar on Sunday night.
