KILLOE YOUNG EMMETS | EMMET ÓG CILL EO
KILLOE GAA

Senior Club Notes 9th March 2015

Our playing year started last weekend with mixed results. Our senior reserve team took on Mostrim in Emmet Park on Saturday evening and following a very tight game, came away with a share of the spoils, on a score of 1-9 each with John Kiernan finding the net for Killoe. On Sunday morning our junior reserve team faced a very strong Young Grattan’s team and despite a good first half performance, we suffered  a heavy defeat. Both teams have games next weekend with our reserve 1 team away to Longford Slashers on Saturday evening at 7pm while our junior reserve team face a tough game away to Legan on Sunday at 2pm.

Unfortunately our senior Scor instrumental team made up of Dervla Murphy, Mary Walsh, Sean Mulroy, Jim McLoughlin and Gerry McKenna bowed out at the semi final stage in the Leinster competition on Sunday last in Mullingar. Hard Luck to all involved.

Well done to the Longford senior and under 21 teams on their wins last weekend.

Our annual 5 and 10 K road races on the 22nd of March are fast approach. Both routes have been athletics Ireland measured and approved. Registration is on the morning and registration costs are €15 for runners, €10 for walkers and €5 for juveniles.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in Begley’s and the numbers drawn were 5, 13,28 and 29. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Padraig Loughrey, Ennybegs, Shane Donohoe, Kelleter, Michael Redehan, C/O The Olde Forge, Turlough Farrelly, Soran and Bronagh Murphy, Corneddan. This weeks sellers prize went to Brian Donohoe. Well done to all the winners. Next weeks jackpot on Sunday night is €2,900. Please continue to support our lotto, either on line at http://www.killoegaa.ie or locally.

Finally we extend our sympathies to the Kelly and McKenna families, Killoe and Dublin on the death of Barney McKenna, London last week.
