Our senior team took on Longford Slashers in round 2 of the championship on Sunday evening last and came away with a 1 point win on a score line of 2-5 to 1-9 after a dramatic finish. We led from the off after a first minute goal from Sean McCormack but late scores from Slashers made for a very tricky finish. However we hung on to come away with the win by the narrowest of margins. Best wishes to Mickey Quinn who sustained a nasty injury in the game.
We have our final round robin game this coming Saturday evening against Granard. The game is in Colmcille at 7.15pm.
Our lotto draw took place in Begleys on Sunday night and the numbers drawn were 8, 10, 11 and 29. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Tony Gearty, Cranlur, Aidan Quinn, Killoe, Mattie and Geraldine Clarke, Ohill, Turlough Farrelly and Fran Connolly, Clonee. This weeks sellers prize went to Donal Maguire. Next weeks draw for a jackpot of €3,300 will take place in the Olde Forge on Sunday night next.
