Senior Club Notes 5th December 2016

Unfortunately our leader cup run came to an abrupt end on Sunday last when we lost out to St Columbas in the semi final on a score of 1-11 to 9 points. We wish St Columbas all the best in the final.

This concludes our senior club activity on the playing fields for 2016 and yet again we have had a very successful year. While we missed out on the big prizes of championship and leader cup, we still managed to capture 6 titles including the intermediate B and under 21 championships. No doubt our lads will come back hungry in 2017 to regain their championship title.

Tickets are currently on sale for our Christmas 2016 fundraising drive. This year we are taking part in the GAA’s national draw which has excellent prizes on offer including first prize of a car. The draw will take place on the 8th March 2017 in Croke Park. To bring a local element to the fundraiser, we are independently holding a draw and social night in Begleys on Saturday night the 17th December for all tickets sold up to that point Prizes of €500, €250 and €100 will be on offer in this draw. Ticket are priced at €10 each and tickets sellers are out and about at the moment.  Again we are asking for your support in this fundraising drive.

Our annual charity match Marrieds V Singles will take place again this year on Saint Stephens day with all proceeds raised this year going to local charity Good 2 Talk.  A very worthy cause indeed and we hope this event will be well supported.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in The Olde Forge and the numbers drawn were 19, 25, 26 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Pat Doherty, Esker, John Browne, Kiltyreher, Mary Kehoe, Kelleter, Marie and Declan Kenny, Kiltyreeher and Alma Brady, Mullinalaughta. This weeks sellers prize went to Mìchael Kenny . Next weeks draw for a prize fund of  €5,000 will take place on Sunday night in Begleys bar with Bernie Bradys team on duty. Thanks again to all who continue to support our lotto.
