Senior Club Notes 4th January 2016

Our annual general meeting took place on Sunday last in the club house and was well attended. Our chairman, secretary and treasurer presented very successful statements for last year with the club in an extremely healthy position all round. Our chairman Jimmy Halpin stepped down after 3 successful years at the helm as did our treasurer Danny Keogh having presented his final set of accounts. Looking around the grounds as we entered the AGM in splendid conditions on Sunday, one could not but see the hard work these men and their fellow outgoing committee members have undertaken in the last number of years with the facilities now available second to none and looking magnificent. We thank these two men in particular for their hard work, dedication and long hours put in over the last 3 years. The pivotal roles on the club committee are akin to a full time job with no remuneration. Thanks again to both.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in the Olde Forge and the numbers drawn were 5, 14, 16 and 23. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Emer and Sharon Muldoon, C/O Ann Murray, Patsy Duke, Annally Park, Michael Carrigy, Kiltyreehir, Kevin Prunty, Dooroc and Sean Carrigy, Ballinalee. This weeks sellers prize went to Margaret McCormack. Next weeks draw for a jackpot of €3,100 will take place in Begleys bar on Sunday night.

We were delighted to welcome a new member to Gerry Rowley’s lotto team over the weekend, our very own Mìchael Kenny whom we know will be a great addition to the lotto team.

Finally we offer our deepest sympathies to the McKeown family, Aughaboy on their recent bereavement, and to all who were bereaved during 2015.
