Our junior team started their championship campaign on Sunday with a home tie against Carrickedmond. A much changed Killoe line up saw county minor stars Mìchael Hughes, Ryan Moffett and David McCarthy make their senior debuts and they certainly added pace to the team. In a game we dominated from the start, we eventually ran out winners 6-16 to 7 points. Well done to team and management. No doubt there will be bigger tests ahead.
Next week is a huge weekend for the club with both our junior and senior teams in championship action. Our senior team face a daunting task on Sunday when we meet Dromard in round 3, and after our slip up against Longford Slashers only a win will do if we are to progress in this years campaign. The game is in Drumlish at 4pm. Also on Sunday our junior team travel to Dunbeggan to take on Young Grattan’s. This game is currently listed for 12 midday but is subject to change. Good luck to both teams.
Hard luck to the Longford minor team on coming so close to reaching the All Ireland Semi final last weekend. The future is bright with all these fine young players around.
Our lotto draw took place in Begley’s on Sunday night and the numbers drawn were 1, 2, 22 and 26. Unfortunately there was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Carla Quinn, Ennybegs, Packie Loughrey, Clonee, Cathy Kelly, Killoe, Mary Quinn, Bawn and Thomas Hagan, Rhyne. Margaret McCormack scooped this weeks sellers prize. Next weeks jackpot rises to €4,900 with the draw in The Olde Forge on Sunday night. Thanks again to all who support our lotto on an on-going basis.
