George Doherty R.I.P.
The club extends its deepest sympathies to the Doherty family on the death of George during the week. George played with the club for a number of years, most notably playing in goals on the 1960 Senior Championship winning team and playing for Longford in the early 60s. Following on from his playing days, George was a team selector as well as a club trustee and in 2011 received the clubs Hall of Fame award. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Senior Teams Run4Pieta
The 2021 Run4Pieta takes place this year across June & July with GAA Clubs from all over Ireland taking part in order raise funds for Pieta House. Run4Pieta will also create awareness of looking after mental health. Pieta provide a FREE service and no referral is required for people who need help.
For this years fundraiser, Pieta House have kindly offered to split the funds raised by the GAA Clubs 50/50 which will support the vital services Pieta House provides as well as supporting GAA Clubs across the country such as our own. The Killoe Young Emmets Senior Team will be doing a 24 hour run on the weekend of June 20th so stay tuned to our Clubs social media for updates on our event and please donate whatever you can. Upcoming matches
Some positive news during the week with the announcement of further easing of covid restrictions. From June 7th, games can recommence with a limit of 100 people in attendance for the majority of venues and 200 people in venues with a minimum capacity for 5000 people. Our Division 5 team play Clonguish away on Sunday the 13th of June while our Seniors start off their Division 1 campaign at home to Dromard on the weekend of June 20th. Fixtures to be confirmed closer to the time.
