KILLOE YOUNG EMMETS - KILLOE ÓG - KILLOE LADIES
KILLOE GAA

Senior Club Notes 30th May 2016

Our senior and junior teams were in league action at the weekend and both had fine wins over Rathcline and Shroid Slashers respectively. Well done to both. We have much sterner tests ahead next weekend when our seniors are at home to Longford Slashers on Sunday at 2.30pm while our juniors are away to Abbeylara at the same time. Good luck to both.

Hearty congratulations to Frank and Delores Kiernan and the entire Kiernan family on the official opening of their state of the art new work shop in Kiltyrehir on Friday last. Kiernan Steel is a real local success story, which has weathered the recession and is going from strength to strength. This was evident on Friday last with the presence of minister Mary Mitchell O Connor at the opening and the announcement of 50 new jobs. God only knows how many sons of Killoe have worked in the facility over the years and continue to do so, and this has been instrumental in ensuring our players have only on rare occasions had to emigrate in search of employment. We wish Frank, Delores and family many more successful years in business.

Our Lotto draw took place on Sunday night in Begleys and the numbers drawn were 5, 15, 19 and 23. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were James McEnroe, Farneyhogan, Sandra Hussey, Longford, Luke Mahon, Killoe, Sean Hussey, Shannon Vale and Kieran Duffy, Lettergullion. This weeks sellers prize went to Geraldine Halpin. Next week will see the jackpot rise to €2,300 with the draw in The Olde Forge on Sunday night.

Finally congratulations to Ashling Kelly, daughter of Sean and Moira and her new husband Gordon Burke who got married iin Ennybegs at the weekend. We wish you many happy years together.
