KILLOE GAA

Senior Club Notes 2nd October 2017

We had no games last weekend with both our senior and junior teams waiting to finish their league campaigns. However our minor club stole the limelight with championship success at under 14 and under 16 recently as well as a fine win in the minor league final on Saturday. We wish our minor team every success in the championship final this coming Sunday and now they will be well supported.

Work is well underway for our novel fundraising event, ‘the Killoe 20K Drop’ which will take place in the Longford Arms Hotel on Saturday the 4th of November. The show is similar to the TV show ‘ Million pound prize drop’ and offers a superb nights entertainment.

We are delighted to date with the response from local companies who have come on board as our major sponsors and advertisers and we thank them for their generosity.

The show will be launched in the Olde Forge on Tuesday night the 10th October at 8pm with all in attendance being treated to a sneak preview of the show. So please come along on the 10th with refreshments being served to all in attendance.

Tickets for the event will be going on sale shortly priced at €20 each.

Our lotto draw for a jackpot of €9,500 took place in Begleys bar on Sunday night and the numbers drawn were 4, 26, 31 and 33. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Ashling Reynolds, Tadhg Rowan, Lanesboro, Seamus Loughrey, Killoe, Padraig Brady, Esker and James M Flynn, Killoe. This weeks sellers prize went to Darina McGoldrick. Next weeks draw is in the Olde Forge for a jackpot of €9,600. Thanks again for your continued support of our lotto.

Finally our deepest sympathy to the family of James Clarke who died last week. James was a former Killoe footballer who played corner back in all grades from school boy up to senior and a great Killoe supporter. May he rest in peace.
