Condolences

The Club was saddened to hear of the passing of Mickey Begley last week after a short illness. Mickey played with the club during the successful era in the late 50s and early 60s and he was a member of the Leader Cup winning team of 1961. When he returned to the parish to take over the family shop and bar in the late 90s he threw his shoulder to the wheel of club activity, generously sponsoring the various teams and events run by the club.

He was awarded the Clubs Hall of Fame Award in 2016 as the club acknowledged his contribution over many decades. He will be missed by all who visited Begley’s Bar and had the chat with him over the years.

To his wife Mary and family, and the extended Begley family we extend our deepest sympathies. The club members formed a Guard of Honour for Mickey as he made his final journey to the Church on Thursday last. May he rest in peace.

Congratulations

Congratulations and best wishes to Gary Connell & Aisling O’Hara who were married on Thursday last.
