2020 Senior Championship Final V Longford Slashers

COUNTY CHAMPIONS 2020! The wait is finally over and Sean Connolly is back with Killoe for a few weeks at least. Killoe took an early lead thanks to a Ronan McGoldrick point and fantastic defending by the team as a whole reduced Longford Slashers scoring chances. Killoe remained in front all the way to half time with the scores 8 points to 5. The second half started in a similar fashion until a Longford Slashers player broke forward and was brought down in the square for a penalty which was duly converted to leave a gap of just one. With their tails up Longford Slashers came forward again and drew the sides level. The game was in the balance but Killoe regained their composure, with Man of the Match Mickey Quinn leading the way with some brilliant carries up the field. A point from Ryan Moffett and two for Larry Moran sealed the victory for Killoe. Well done to the team and management on back to back titles. Commiserations to Longford Slashers who for the second final in a row pushed us all the way. Full match report in this weeks Longford Leader.
