Senior Club Notes 27th June 2021

Club Lotto

The weekly Emmet Óg & Killoe Minor Club Lotto Draw took place on Sunday evening.

The Jackpot was €11,000.

There was no Jackpot winner this week.

Numbers drawn on the night were 8, 18, 28,  34

Senior Team Run4Pieta

Our Senior Team held their 24 hour run last weekend with players taking turns to run for an hour all through the day and night in Emmet Park. The fundraiser has been a huge success so far, with all funds raised being split 50/50 with Pieta House and the Senior Team training fund. Donations can still be made on the Killoe GAA iDonate web page. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far, and to everyone who ran alongside the lads as well as to those who supplied food/drinks for our runners over the course of the 24 hours. Best wishes to all other clubs taking part in the 2021 Run4Pieta challenge.

Division 1 V Fr. Manning Gaels

Our Senior team got their first victory of the year in a comprehensive 6-14 to 7 point win away to Fr. Manning Gaels last Friday in round 2 of the league. Scorers: Mark Hughes 1-6, Larry Moran 2-1, David McCarthy 2-0, Ciaran Donohoe 1-1, Ronan McGoldrick, Eamon Keogh & Enda Bracken 2 points each, Shane Fitzpatrick 1 point (45’)

Division 3 V Ballymore

Our intermediate team continued their good form in division 3 with a 1-13 to 1-10 win over Ballymore in Emmet Park last Sunday. Well done to all the team & management.

Division 5 V Legan Sarsfields

Our Division 5 team bounced back from their opening round defeat to beat Legan Sarsfields 4-13 to 14 points in Emmet Park last Wednesday. Well done to all.

Inter-county Championship

Congratulations to the Longford Senior Team who defeated Carlow in the opening round of the Leinster Championship last Sunday. Commiserations to the Longford U17 Team who lost out to Kildare in their Leinster Championship game last Saturday. The Longford U20 team take on Louth in their Leinster Championship round 1 game which takes place on Thursday, while the Senior team take on Meath in round 2 next weekend. Best of luck to both teams, especially to all the Killoe players on the panels.

Upcoming Fixtures

Our Division 5 team are away this Wednesday the 30th to Kenagh at 8pm in round 3 of the league. There are no Senior or Intermediate games scheduled for this upcoming weekend.
