Senior Club Notes – 24th November 2014

Our under 21’s had a fine win in the A championship semi final on Sunday last over Carrick Sarsfields. They have now qualified for the final which will be played next Saturday in Pearse Park at 3pm against Colmcille. We wish the team every success in this tricky game which is the final game of the year for all our teams. Wouldn’t it be nice to finish the year on another high.

Our minor club agm takes place this coming Friday night in the school at 9pm. New personnel are required to fill a variety of roles and anyone with children playing at any grade from schoolboy up to under 18 who wishes to get involved with any panel is invited to attend.

Good luck to our representatives in the various junior scor competitions taking place this coming Saturday night. Good luck also to the Wolfe Tones hurling team who take part in the Leinster Junior Hurling final against Clara on Sunday next

Preparations are now at an advanced stage for our inaugural ‘jigs N Reels’ fundraiser which is taking place in the Longford Arms Hotel ballroom on Saturday night the 6th December. Tickets at €10 each are available from any club member.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night and we are delighted to announce we had a winner with the numbers 22, 24, 25 and 27. Congratulations to Mary Hughes, Melview who is the lucky winner of €4,700.

Our €20 lucky dip winners were the Moffett Brothers, Esker, Gerry Rowley, Billy Igoe, Connie Reilly and Nellie McGoldrick. Tom McManus took the sellers prize. Well done to all the winners and thanks for playing. Next weeks jackpot starts at €1,500 again.

Finally we wish to extend our sympathies to  the Lynch family, Glanagh, and Fr Carrigy, Clonee on their recent bereavements.
