Senior Club Notes 21st January 2019

Our Annual Dinner Dance took place in the Longford Arms Hotel on Saturday night last. A great night was had. Our MC on the night was John Dowd who made sure all proceedings ran smoothly and in an orderly manner.

The award recipients on the night were Junior Player of the year Emmet Toher who was presented with his award by Gerry Hagan. The Senior Player of the year went to Denis McGoldrick and he was presented with his award by Patrick Collum. Next the Reserve League Division 3 and Junior Championship winners were presented with their medals by Vice Chairperson of the County Board Brid Mc Goldrick. This was followed by the Under 20 winners who were presented with their medals by County Board Chairman Eamon Reilly. The last two awards were Clubperson Of The Year Award and The Hall Of Fame Award. The Clubperson Of the Year Award went to Thomas Quinn and the Hall of Fame went to Gerry Quinn Dublin. These awards were presented by Geraldine Halpin and Paddy Lennon. Congratulations to all very deserving winners. Also congratulations to Gerry Rowley and Sean Whelan who received special recognition awards from Killoe Ladies Club.

After all the awards everyone was entertained by the excellent Scruffy Duffy. There was a special raffle prize on the night for a one night stay in Lough Rynn Castle with an evening meal and the winner was Gerry Quinn Dublin.

A special word of thanks to Orla Reynolds and staff of the Longford Arms Hotel for an excellent meal and service on the night. Thanks to all committee members for helping out on the night.

Anyone intersted in taking part in Scor should contact Marie Brady as soon as possible. Scor takes place in Abbeylara on Saturday Night the 9th of February.

Our Couch to 5km is up and running on Wednesday evenings and with the parkrun on Saturday mornings. In addition to this there is Fitness Classes and Nutritional advice with Stephen Cosgrave on Monday Nights in Ennybegs Community Centre 7.30 to 8.30.

Membership is now available from Club Registrars Ronan McGoldrick and Sean Whelan.

Our weekly Lotto Draw took place in Begleys Bar on Sunday night last. There was no jackpot winner.

The numbers drawn were 22.27.31.16 . The 20 winners were Una Bratten Kiltyreher, Sean & Jacinta McGuire Soran, Tom McManus Soran, Jimmy Halpin Carrabeg and Victor Kiernan The Olde Forge.

The Sellers Prize went to Begleys Bar. Next weeks draw takes place in The Olde Forge and the jackpot will be €4,700.

The club extends deepest sympathy to the Toher Family on the death of Tom Davis recently.
