We kicked off our senior championship campaign on Sunday last against Clonguish in glorious conditions in Edgeworthstown. After a fine first half performance which saw us leading 1-9 to 9 points at half time, Clonguish finished the stronger to record victory on a score of 21 points to 1-14. Well done Clonguish. We are out in round 2 this coming weekend against Longford Slashers with the game in Abbeylara on Sunday evening at 6.30pm.
Our junior reserve team contested the league final on Monday evening last. Please see results section or social media for score line which was not available at time of printing.
Our junior team contest the Gilmore cup final this coming Sunday with a very tough fixture against Abbeylara. The game is in Granard at 12.30pm.
Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in The Olde Forge and the numbers drawn were 1,19,21 and 23. There was no Jackpot winner. €20 winners were William Quinn, Traenlawn, Declan Donoghue, Carrigallen, John and Sandra Conlon, Newtownbond, Peggy Nolan, USA and Mary Farrell, Farneyhogan. This weeks sellers prize went to Brendan Bracken. Next week sees our jackpot rise to €3,200 with the draw in Begleys on Sunday night next.
Congratulations to Ciana Connell and Kevin Shaughnessy who got married on Sunday last. We wish them many happy years together.
