2021 Senior Championship Rd 3 V Colmcille
Our Seniors recorded a draw with Colmcille on Sunday last in round 3 of the Senior Championship. Killoe started well in the first half and got the first goal of the game when Ronan Keogh went on a surging run, finding Mark Hughes who buried the ball past the Colmcille keeper. With further points exchanged between the sides, Killoe held a slender two point lead at half time. With the second half just underway, Colmcille slotted home a goal from a short range free to edge in front. Things looked to be going in Colmcilles favour when Killoe were reduce to fourteen men, Ciaran Donohoe receiving a second yellow. Then another run forward by Ronan Keogh into the Colmcille defence allowed Mark Hughes to get free and he bagged his second goal. The Killoe defence held out any further Colmcille goal chances while points from Mark Hughes ensured Killoe salvaged a draw.
Full time score Killoe 2-10 Colmcille 1-13.
2021 Intermediate Championship Round 3 V Ballymahon
Our Intermediate team recorded a draw against Ballymahon on Friday last in Michael Fay Park in a highly entertaining game. Killoe started brightly and looked to have put last Sundays defeat behind them when they raced to a six points to one lead at the water break. When play resumed Ballymahon came back strong into the game scoring two goals and three points to see the half time score show Killoe 0-9 points Ballymahon 2-4. Killoe missed a number of chances in the second half which they would come to rue despite hitting a further five points in the half along with a David McCarthy goal. With the last kick of the game Ballymahon kept their cool and converted a free to see both sides share the points. Killoe 1-14 Ballymahon 2-11. Well done to the team and management on a great performance.
