Senior Club Notes 19th September 2016

Unfortunately championship 2016 came to a sudden halt on Saturday evening last when we deservedly lost out to a fine St Columbas team at the semi final stage. While we had chances to win the game, Mullinalaghta were the better team on the evening and finally saw us off in the closing stages. We wish them all the best in the final and we hope their long wait for a Sean Connolly cup will come to an end this year.

Our intermediate B team are out in the championship semi final this coming Saturday against Abbeylara. The game is in Pearse Park on Saturday at 4pm Good luck to team and management.

Best wishes to the Longford ladies team and our own girls Ann Marie Bratten and Jacinta Brady in the All Ireland Final on Sunday next. Please god they can finish off their fine season with a win.

Our lotto draw took place in Begleys on Sunday night and the numbers drawn were 9,13,21 and 28. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Marie and Doc, C/O Begleys, Ellen Brady, Boher, Sean and Jacinta Maguire, Brendan McCormack and Paul O Hara, Bawn with Sean Whelan taking the sellers prize. Next weeks draw for a jackpot of €5,900 will take place on Sunday night in the Olde Forge  .

Finally this week we offer our deepest sympathies to the McManus and Lynch families on their bereavements last week. May Bridie and Mick rest in peace.
