Senior Club Notes 18th May 2015

Massive congratulations to both the Longford senior and minor teams who had great wins in the Leinster Championship at the weekend. On Friday evening our county minors took on Carlow in Pearse Park and had a fine win. Killoe stars Michael Hughes, Ryan Moffett, Shane Thompson and David McCarthy are all involved with the county minor panel.

Meanwhile on Saturday evening our seniors backboned by Michael Quinn and Cian Farrelly travelled to Tullamore to face Offaly more in hope than in expectation. However hard work and a never say die attitude saw them record a fine win. well done to both panels and good luck in the next rounds.

We had no games at the weekend with training continuing for all panels. There will be further reserve games next weekend. Our senior reserves are down to play Dromard away on Friday evening at 8pm while on Sunday our reserve 3 team travel to Moydow for 2pm throw in. Good luck to both in what are tricky away games.

Well done to John Igor, Kelleter who as one of Irelands leading amateur golfers, is on the verge of qualifying for the US open, which is one of the worlds biggest professional golf competitions. Only a decent performance in one final qualifying competition in the USA on the 8th June is standing in his way. This would be a phenomenal achievement for John and his family and we wish them every success.
