Our reserve junior team played Young Grattens in the league semi final in horrible conditions in Emmet Park on Friday evening last. After a very entertaining game we eventually came away winners on a score line of 3-14 to 1-8. Full forward Bernard O Connor led the scoring stakes with 3-1 to his name. Aaron Clyne contributed 4 points from play while James Keogh knocked over 5 fantastic points from placed balls in very tricky conditions. However this was a very fine overall team performance with all players rising to the occasion. We now face Ardagh/Moydow in the final of this competition.
On Sunday our senior b team took on a weak Dromard team in round 2 of the championship and after a defeat at the hands of Clonguish last week we needed a win to get back into contention in this competition. We came a way with a fine victory on a scoreline of 5-20 to 1-3. Well done to all involved in both games.
This coming weekend our senior b team take on Longford Slashers at home in a must win game. Throw in is on Friday evening at 8pm.
Hard luck to the county senior team on bowing out of the championship on Saturday last. After an excellent first half, sheer strength and muscle eventually snuffed out our challenge in the second half. Well done to Denis, Mickey and the entire panel on their fine run in this years qualifiers.
