Senior Club Notes 18th January 2016

Well done to The Longford senior team including Mark Hughes and Larry Moran who had a fantastic win over a strong Dublin team in the semi final of the O Byrne cup in Pearse Park on Sunday last. It was great to see such fight and spirit in the team. Lets hope they continue in the same form for this Sundays final against Meath in Navan.

Well done also to the Longford under 21 team including Liam Hughes, Paddy Kiernan, Michael Hughes, Shane Fitzpatrick and Larry Moran who are progressing nicely in the Hastings cup.

Membership is now due for all members for the coming years. The rates are €40 for playing members, €25 for non playing members and €20 for student members.

The county scòr competition is rapidly approaching and will take place in the 5th February. If anyone is interested in taking part in any of the various activities please contact Marie McCormack on  086 3516501.

Our lotto draw took place in the Olde Forge on Sunday night with John Fitzsimons team on this weekend. The numbers drawn were 11,16, 23 and 30. Unfortunately there was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Paul Igoe, Vanessa Kiernan, Darina McGoldrick, Marie and Doc, C/O Begleys and Billy Hughes with John Fitzsimons taking this weeks sellers prize. As our lotto is our main source of income week to week we encourage all our supporters near or far to continue playing our loot as often as possible either on line or locally. Bulk lotto membership is available through any committee member  €100 for 1 year, €50 for 6 months and €25 for 3 months. Thanks again to all who play our lotto regularly.

We send our congratulations to Edel Lennon, Esker and James Gallagher, Sligo on their recent wedding.

Finally we offer our condolences to our former chairman PJ Quinn, Chapel Street, Longford on the death of his beloved wife Kathleen who was laid to rest last week.
