Senior Championship Quarter Final V Longford Slashers

A championship semi final awaits for our Senior team as they overcame Longford Slashers by 3 points in a tough encounter in Pearse Park on Saturday last. Despite hitting the first point of the game, Killoe fell behind after seven minutes when Longford Slashers got their first goal of the game. Slashers maintained their lead for the rest of the half but by the break in play, they only held a one point lead as Killoe began to get scores on the board. Killoe continued to build in the opening minutes of the second half and by the midpoint were 3 in front, only to be undone again by a goal and a point from Longford Slashers. Undeterred, Killoe kept going and hit their groove late in the half, scoring 1-5 without reply, beginning with a point from Shane Clarke and ending with a goal coming from Cian Dooner. A third goal scored by Longford Slashers was not enough as Killoe seen out the win. Full time score: Killoe 1-18, Longford Slashers 3-9. Well done to the team & management. The team now face County Champions Colmcille in the semi-final in two weeks time.

Junior C Championship Round 6 V Ballymahon

Our Junior C team had a big win on Saturday evening with a 5-11 to 5-4 victory against Ballymahon in round 6 of the championship. A hattrick of goals from Tommy Griffin and a brace from Shane Mahon ensured the win for Killoe. The team play Seán Connollys next weekend in the final round needing a win to be in with a chance of qualifying for the championship final.
