Senior Club Notes 13th March 2017

Our instrumental group made up of Paddy Collumb, Marie Brady and Pardaig Walsh put in a super performance in the Leinster semi final of senior Scòr on Saturday night last stealing the show and progressing to the Leinster Final. Well done to all involved and best wishes in the final.

Our annual 5 and 10 K road races took place last Sunday in glorious conditions with a large crowd in attendance. The winners were as follows, 5k males Nicolae Bucealiu, Ross Gannon, Roy Kelly, 5k female, Madeline Doyle, Fiona Toher, Erin O’Brien, 10k male, Kevin Ward, Michael O’Hara, Daniel Walshe, 10k female, Michelle Murray, Fiona Gettings, Maggie Smith , Juvenile male, Sean Clyne, Enda Quinn, Enda Bracken, Juvenile female, Lauryn McKeon, Grainne Rooney, Casey Rowley.

Thanks to all who assisted us in any way with the running of the event, particularly the main organizers Declan O Brien, Sinead Killian and Gerry Rowley. Thanks to all the stewards who gave of their time on Sunday morning to ensure the event went off smoothly.

Our couch to 5K event culminated with the run on Sunday. Massive thanks to Claire Kiernan for her work in getting this and several other fantastic initiatives off the ground in her short period as health and well being officer. Over 50 people participated in the couch to 5 K event with substantial weight loss achieved by all who took part. Thanks again to Claire for all her efforts.

Our lotto draw for a jackpot of €6,600 took place on Sunday night in The Olde Forge and the numbers drawn were 13, 23, 29 and 36. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Ciaran Donohoe, Kelleter, Michael Dooner, Ennybegs, Paul McCormack, Drumlish, David Quinn, Ennybegs and Mattie and Geraldine Clarke, Ohill with Joe Leonard taking the sellers prize. Next weeks draw for a jackpot of €6,700 will take place in Begleys bar on Sunday night.
