Games Promotion Officer

We are delighted to welcome Aidan Main to our club where he will take up the role as our new club Games Promotion Officer working closely with our Minor, Ladies and Senior boards.

Aidan is from Elphin, Co. Roscommon and studied in Glasgow for 4 years and is qualified with a honours degree in Sports Coaching and Development.

A large part of Aidan’s life is centred around coaching and is a great passion of his. Aidan spent 3 years as a  coaching officer with Tir Conaill Harps GAC, Glasgow, developing a 3 year coaching and games development plan, with focus on ladies football and youth development, which had great success in the growth of underage playing numbers through a schools coaching programme.

Aidan is current manager of Elphin/Ballinameen U20 team, is part of the Roscommon U20 county coaching backroom team for the upcoming 2023 season and is over Northern Harps Ladies for the coming year.

Aidan aims to bring a positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to coaching which will hopefully play a part in the growth and development of our club through recruitment of new players and retaining current ones.

He is a strong believer in the greatest measure of success being retaining or improving the numbers participating in our club/team each year.

Aidan has been coaching in our local St. Teresa’s National School since Halloween and is already very popular among children and staff.

Aidan met our underage coaches at our recent Minor Board Presentation night.

We wish Aidan the very best of luck in his new role with our club.
