The final curtain has come down for this years playing activity for the minor club. It ended on Sunday with a magnificent win for our minors in the championship final when they defeated a strong amalgamation of Carrick Sarsfields / St Dominic’s / Moydow Óg on a scoreline of 11 points to 10.
Congratulations to the players their management of Tommy, Eamonn, Gary and Daniel and the parents and guardians of these lads for all their hard work throughout the year. It is a wonderful achievement having won the minor league final the week previously.
We will be losing some of the players to the Senior Club and we wish them well in their future careers on and of the playing field. We look forward in anticipation to seeing some of these lads again in the future representing the club on county final day with our seniors.
This minor championship is the crowing moment for the club as the U14 and U16 championship have also been won in the last couple of weeks. This is the first time in Longford GAA history the 3 major underage championships titles were won by the same club in the same year. These wins are the awards for the tremendous work that has been done and continues to be done at the U6, u8, U10 and U12 and in the national school.
