Minor Club Notes 2nd October 2017

On Sunday  next  at 2pm our minors play in the  county final against Carrick Sarsafield Moydow Kenagh.

Saturday  last was a busy   day for the   club  in that  our minor and  U14   were  in Pearse Park  in finals  and our U10  were  at  the   U10 blitz  in Drumhowan Monaghan.

Congratulations  to  our U14’s  on winning the  club championship on Saturday last  with a comprehensive  win over  Clonguish   on a scoreline   of  4-8 to 1-4. Well done  to the   players  and mentors .

Our minors  won the  league  final  against Longford  Slashers  after  extra time on a  scoreline of  1-22 t o 14 points. This game was level  at 13 points  at the end of  normal time. We  lead  8 points  to 6 shortly after  half time   but Slashers  hit a  purple patch and took a 13  points  to  8 lead. However  in the  last  10  minutes  our lads   showed great resolve  to the  level the match  before  pulling away in extra time

After a number of tight  matches  our U10   ended  up narrowly losing the  plate final in the Drumhowan  blitz.

Hard luck to   our U16’s  in narrowly  losing  the  semi  final  of  the  county Championship  against Carrick Sarsfield Moydow Kenagh  on Tuesday   last. This  match bought the  end of their  successful season where  the  retained the  club champsionship.  Well done to the players and mentors

Our  U8’s and  U10’s  training  finished up  last Friday for the  current  year.  Thank you to the kids , trainers and mentors Parents  and guardians  for all their  efforts  throughout  the year. We hope to  see you  all back again next year.

We are holding our annual clothing collection on Saturday  next We can accept your clean  unwanted  clothes  bedlinen towels  and  textiles  including  shoes bags  belts and   soft toys .We  will be ready  to take  in your unwanted items  each Friday  evening  from  6.30-7.30 in Clonee  .  If you  cannot  drop off  your unwanted items  please  contact  either Turlough Farrelly  ( 087 2305679) Robbie Browne ( 087 4133975) or  Tom Walsh (086 8596065) and  we   can arrange  collection of  same.

The  club extends its  Sympathy  to the Clarke family on their  recent  bereavement.
