Minor Club Notes 29th June 2015

Pride of  Place  goes  to our   U14 Feile  Team and Mentors  on winning   silver medals in the  all Ireland  Feile. The squad  members are as follows Shane Igoe, David O’Neill,Jonathan  Boreland, Eoin Walsh,Darren Moffett, James Moran,Bernard Boreland,Jake Donnelly,Patrick Loughlin, Reece Leonard,Cian Dooner,Nelvin Appiah,Thomas Ivel ,Eoghan Smith,Declan Craig, Jack Lennon,Charlie Hughes King ,Michael Dunleavy, Ciaran Bracken, Euan Finneran,Shane Gilna,Killian Feeney,Tomas Walsh,Adam Donnelly  The team  mentors  were David Donnelly,  Brian Finneran  Kevin Dooner and  Padraig McCormack.

On Friday morning the  lads set out  for  Rathgarogue  in Wexford  to play  Rathgarogue/Cushinstown Wexford and Durlas Og  Tipperary.  After  beating the  hosts  we can up short  against our Tipperary  opponents. We  then travelled back to our host  club  St Patrick’s in Wicklow town. On Saturday   morning we beat our  hosts. we thus  qualified for  the  Cup Quarter  final. We  came up against  a very strong  Raheny  (Dublin) side and after a titanic struggle  we came our on top. On Sunday morning  we travelled  to Carlow  to take on  our next  opponents  Cavan Gaels which we  won comprehensively  playing  fantastic  football. In  the final we  came up short  against a stronger  Ferbane/Belmont  team. The club  would like to thank our  Host club  St Patrick’s  Wicklow town for  looking after us   over the  weekend.

U10  go games Blitz will be held in Emmet Park  on Wednesday  1st  July  at 7pm.

Best of  luck to our U18 special minor  league  team in their  league  final on  Sunday 5th July next  at 4pm in Emmet  Park   against  Colmcille.

U12 Longford- Leitrim League  semi Final  on Thursday  2nd July in Emmet Park at  7 pm.

Congratulations to the  County Minors  on defeating  Meath in Leinster semi  final especially  our club  representatives.

Best wishes to the  county  senior team in the qualifiers  against  Clare  next weekend.

Our annual  clothing recycling collection is  occurring on Saturday 25th July . Please donate all your unwanted clothes, Bedlinen, Towels, Mobile Phones, Books in black bags. Members will be available at the club house to receive items every Friday  evening between 6.30pm-7.30pm  until then.
