Congratulations to our Minor team on winning the Minor championship final last Sunday week on a score line of 2-9 to 1-11. This is the second year we came out victorious by 1 point over Carrick Sarsfield/Kenagh amalgamation. It was a game of two halves as we lead on a 2-7 to 0-2 score line at half time but we were pegged back in a nail biting contest. Well done to the entire squad and the team management of Tommy Donohoe, Daniel Mimnagh, Gary Fenelon and Paul O’Hara on achieving back to back league and championship. We will be losing some of this squad to the senior club next year and we wish them the very best in the future footballing careers.
Our U10’s had their last go games blitz for the year last Wednesday evening. The end of year party for U6’s, U8’s and U10’s will be held in the clubhouse on Friday night next 19th October at 6.30 to 7.30 pm.
Hard Luck to of U16’s team who were defeated by Cloungish Og in the final of Juvenile B championship. This is a very young squad which exceeded our expectations on reaching the final on this competition. Well to Clonguish. Thank you to the team management of Sean Maguire, Tom Walsh, Sean Feeney and Joe Maloney for all their work with the team.
The U16 competition brings an end to the main competitions at minor level for this year. On behalf of the executive I would like to thank all the players from our u6’s to minors for what they have done throughout the year, their parents/Guardians for making their kids available to play our game and the coaches at all age groups for all their time and effort during the year. Thank you to our Senior club for all your assistance throughout the year. When we look back on 2018 we are very fortunate to be in a position to have many highlights on the sporting field this year. To celebrate we are having a year end gathering in Begleys on Saturday night next 20th October.
Congratulations to our U20’s on winning the inaugural U20 Championship on Sunday. A number of this squad would have been on the Junior and Minor championship team over the last couple of weeks.
