Leader Cup Final
Our Division One team came up just short against Clonguish in the Leader Cup Final last Saturday evening. Trailing 1-08 to 0-05 at half-time, the lads produced a spirited second-half fightback and closed the gap, but Clonguish finished strongly to claim the title. The final score was Killoe Young Emmets 0-11, Clonguish 1-13. Hard luck to all the players and management on their tremendous effort. Attention now turns to the Championship, which gets underway in three weeks’ time. Best of luck to the squad as preparations continue.
Division Two League Games
Our Division 2 Green team suffered a narrow defeat to our neighbours, Sean Connolly’s, in a closely contested game in Emmet Park last Sunday morning. It was a tremendous battle throughout, and our lads produced a strong second-half performance, scoring two excellent goals, but unfortunately came up just short at the final whistle. Full-time score: Killoe Young Emmets Green 2-10, Sean Connolly’s 1-16.
Our White team also suffered a narrow defeat to Ardagh Moydow in their league fixture on Thursday evening. Despite a spirited display, they were edged out in a high-scoring encounter at Keenan Park. Full-time score: Killoe Young Emmets White 1-17, Ardagh Moydow 2-16.
