Senior Club Notes 29th February 2016

So finally after the long winter break club action for 2016 kicks off this weekend with the commencement of the senior and junior reserve leagues. Both teams are in action on Saturday evening with our senior reserves away to Colmcille at 5pm and our junior reserves at home to St Columba’s at 7.30p.m. Good luck to both. All plyers are reminded that membership is now overdue and must be paid before any games commence.

Hard luck to Longford and our representatives Mickey, Mark, Cian and Larry on their defeat to Kildare at the weekend. Also commiserations to the county under 21 team including Shane Fitzpatrick, Michael Hughes, Larry Moran, Paddy Kiernan and Liam Hughes on their Leinster championship defeat to Wexford last weekend.

Our lotto draw took place in the Olde Forge on Sunday night and the numbers drawn were 3, 12,14 and 29. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Paddy Lee, Ennybegs, Geraldine Crehan, Corneddan, Ciaran Igoe, Kelleter, Sean Murray, Cullyfad and Tony McKenna, Rhyne. This weeks sellers prize went to Eugene Caherly. Thanks again to all who play our lotto on a regular basis. Of late we have made a massive effort to bring on board more players in our prepaid annual draw ad we thank all who have come on board. Annual membership of our lotto is available from any committee member at €100 for 12 months ( 2 free draws), €50 for 6 months and €25 for 3 months.

Finally congratulations to senior star Shane Dowd and his beautiful wife Amy who got married in Doolin at the weekend. We wish them many years of happy wedded bliss together.
